Making the Case for Cash: A field guide to advocacy for cash transfer programming

2011 — By CALP Network

Because cash transfer programming (CTP) is still a relatively new way of delivering aid, practitioners may often find that they need to be able to make the case for using CTP as well as address fears across different audiences.

This guide aims to support field-level advocacy for cash transfer programming. It covers the main humanitarian and practical reasons that underpin cash-based interventions, and identifies common fears about using cash and possible responses to these, and identifies some practical tips to help convince your audience.  It also provides an outline of how to create an advocacy and messaging plan.
