Session timing, 6th June 2024 8am-9.30am US-EST

The Working Group is hosted by the CALP Network and supports humanitarian Cash and Voucher Assistance (CVA) implementing organisations to leverage the latest digital payment infrastructure, to improve the quality, quantity and impact of support. It focuses on organisations seeking multi-country or multi-stakeholder payment solutions. Its members include the majority of large and medium-sized CVA implementing organisations globally. In 2022 humanitarian organisations distributed $7.92bn of CVA.

Aidonic is an award winning and consistently innovative Swiss-based technology company that provides a blockchain-based platform for transparent and secure distribution of aid. Their platform enables humanitarian organizations, NGOs, and governments to deliver digital cash and voucher assistance directly to recipients’ mobile phones in addition to supporting deduplication efforts and providing a bridge between the humanitarian and payments world.

CVA implementers and Payment Solution Providers (PSPs) have both expressed a need for greater collaboration to improve outcomes for aid recipients. Through Special Sessions, the payments group creates a safe place to foster collaboration, bringing together implementers and PSPs to develop common understandings of the challenges and opportunities presented in digital humanitarian CVA payments. By facilitating these conversations, the group transforms one-on-one interactions (between aid organisations and individual blockchain providers) into a more efficient network.
