East and Southern Africa Localization round table meeting
The CALP Network is committed to supporting local actors to lead humanitarian responses, including the delivery of Cash and Voucher Assistance (CVA) hence the need for a roundtable discussion on the actions needed to enhance locally-led CVA in the region.
The upcoming round table discussion, organized in collaboration with the Africa Humanitarian Organizations Network (AHON), will be conducted virtually. The event is scheduled for September 7, 2023, from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm EAT. Attendees will comprise only local actors from the East and Southern Africa (ESAF) Region.
This meeting aims to provide a space for reflection/dialogue and begin to develop a plan of action that could help move forward CVA and locally-led response collectively at a regional level.
In addition, the roundtable discussion will be an opportunity for local actors to feed into CALP’s ongoing high-level work on the development of cash and voucher assistance as a key means of achieving a more locally-led and people-centred aid. This is a major policy initiative in collaboration with USAID/BHA, to influence the shift of power and resources from international to local actors and to strengthen our collective cash policy commitments.
Kindly note that this meeting will include simultaneous interpretation in French.
