Americas Regional Roundtable – Locally-Led Responses
The CALP Network is committed to supporting local actors to lead humanitarian responses, including the delivery of cash and voucher assistance (CVA), and to support the drive for people centred humanitarian response.
Following on from global discussions and commitments to this process at the High-Level meeting that took place in June 2023, we want to hear directly from local and national actors in Americas on what actions are needed to drive this forward.
In collaboration with the Centro de Justicia y Paz, (CEPAZ), CORPOCAMINAR, Federación de Cooperativas para el Desarrollo – Nicaragua, and Arquímedes Farías, humanitarian professional in Venezuela, CALP is organizing a virtual roundtable discussion. The event will take place on the 25th of January at 10-11:30 Bogota time (UCT-15:00).
The meeting aims to:
- Build a definition and mutual understanding of “locally led response” as it relates to humanitarian CVA in the Americas.
- Identify a list of priority policy areas to be taken forward in the Americas region to collectively advance the agenda of locally led CVA and responses.
- Contribute to the global policy initiative from an Americas perspective.
If you’re a local or national actor in the Americas region, please register and join the conversation!
The discussion will be held in English with interpretation into French and Spanish.
