CALP Online: Core CVA Skills for Programme Staff – Afghanistan

Objectives
The overarching goal of this course is to develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence of humanitarian practitioners for CVA technical design and quality.
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Understand how CVA is guided by key policies, standards, and guidelines.
- Describe how CVA needs to be integrated into the role of different teams throughout the project cycle.
- Explain what assessment information is needed to inform response analysis.
- Use market information to inform modality choice.
- Understand how CVA can contribute to response objectives.
- Identify the information needed for monitoring and evaluation of CVA
- Identify how collaboration and coordination support quality CVA.
About the Course
This course is structured around the project cycle and covers all the key skills required to design, implement, and monitor cash and voucher assistance. The course is focused on a technical/programmatic perspective and incorporates examples and case studies from multiple sectors.
This 12-week online course is equivalent to taking the CALP Network’s flagship 5-day face to face training course, “Core CVA Skills for Programme Staff” and you would receive the same certificate of completion at the end.
Therefore, this course is for programme staff responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring cash and voucher programmes. This course will be conducted in English.
How is the course delivered?
This course will be delivered remotely (online) using a range of methods including videos, e-learning, offline written group tasks, and facilitated interactive online workshops.
How long is the course?
This course will start on April 16th and will last through July. As a learner, you will be expected to spend approximately three hours a week on this course. There are 10 weeks of learning with three check-in weeks built in for you to catch up on course work. It is equivalent to a 5-day face-to-face training in terms of learner time.
The majority of learning is self-directed, meaning that you can watch the videos and complete the e-learnings at any time that suits you, however, attendance at the 6 facilitated online workshops is essential in order to complete the course and gain your certificate. The dates and times of these workshops will be confirmed once your registration has been completed and you have been accepted onto the course, however, the tentative dates are as follows:
All workshops are between April 23rd and July 30th 2024 for two hours at 2:30pm Afghanistan time. The specific dates below are tentative.
- Workshop 1: April 23rd
- Workshop 2: April 30th
- Workshop 3: May 21st
- Workshop 4: June 11th
- Workshop 5: June 25th
- Workshop 6: July 9th
Deadline for Applications: 10th March 2024, 11:59pm Manila time.
