#SOWC2018 Launch Event and Webinar for the Asia Region, 16 May

On Wednesday 16 May, the CALP Network will launch the State of the World’s Cash report in the Asia region through a dedicated event with the Regional Cash Working Group. This is the latest in a series of events around the world to introduce the findings of the report and foster debate about the future of cash transfer programming in the humanitarian sector.

Event Details

This event and webinar, part of the planned activities for the Regional Cash Working Group, is designed to trigger discussions about increasing the profile of cash transfers in the region. It will focus particularly on preparedness and the localisation of humanitarian assistance through forming linkages with existing social protection systems.

The specific objectives of the webinar are:

• Inform the community of practise on CTP global discussion and priority areas,
• Discuss standard processes and measures to have in place for cash preparedness, and
• Discuss enabling factors and opportunity areas to link humanitarian cash transfer assistance with social protection systems.
