Expression of Interest GBV Focal Point
The National Cash Working Group (CWG) in Iraq is calling for organizations to express their interest in nominating a staff to become the group’s GBV focal point. As outlined in the TOR for the GBV focal point (attached here), this role will work to assist the CWG in mainstreaming GBV prevention and risk mitigation throughout its MPCA programming (needs assessment, analysis, planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting). While considering GBV risks (including sexual violence and exploitation) and applying measures to prevent and mitigate exposure of affected populations is a shared responsibility of all CWG members and the coordination team, having a designated focal person for GBV mainstreaming will scale up existing efforts of institutionalizing and actioning the CWG’s shared responsibilities.
The GBV focal point role will be hosted by an organization. The selected organization will be required to dedicate the time of a nominated individual to carry out the duties of the GBV focal point, in line with the TOR. The nominated individuals will need to possess significant technical knowledge, capacity (acquired through trainings) and/or experience in GBV mainstreaming, as well as capacity to drive forward GBV prevention and risk mitigation in cash programming across different sectors, including through support and capacity development activities for CWG members.
