Enablers and Gaps: Gender Equality, Gender-Based Violence Response and Mitigation in Cash and Voucher Assistance at Response levels: analysis on three case studies

26 April 2021 — By Maja Tønning, Key Aid Consulting, CARE

The Gender and Cash Sub-Workstream identified three case studies that illustrate how Cash Working Groups, GBV Sub-Clusters, gender focal points (e.g. Gender in Humanitarian Action Working groups at country and regional level) and humanitarian partnerships can enable meaningful and wider engagement on gender equity and GBV response in CVA. The case studies all show different aspects of linking gender, GBV and CVA.

This document analyzes the case studies to identify enablers as well as what more needs to be done to continue to foster these connections to ensure humanitarian practice meaningfully considers gender in CVA, as well as GBV risk mitigation, prevention and use of CVA in GBV at systematic ways at response levels.
