Mette Tangen is a Norwegian national with broad international experience, having worked with the Red Cross system and the United Nations. For the past 11 years, she has been with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway. Currently the Deputy Director in the Section for Humanitarian Affairs, co-responsible for Norway’s humanitarian policy and budget. In her previous role in the same section, she was responsible for the cash file and ensured that Norway took a lead role amongst donors in pushing for the increased use of cash in humanitarian assistance. Holds a master’s degree in International Relations from London School of Economics. Aspires to be a driver for change and reform of the humanitarian system, in Norway and globally, with the people in need always in focus.
