Cash & Markets Technical Team Manager
Emma is the Technical Team Manager for Cash and Markets at the British Red Cross supporting the increased scale up of cash through the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. Emma has over 12 years’ experience in the humanitarian sector working for the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), Oxfam GB, Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO), Cash Learning Partnership (CaLP) and the United Nations Educational and Scientific Organisation (UNESCO). Emma has worked in a wide range of emergency contexts including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Haiti, Cambodia, Kenya, Nepal, Pakistan, Senegal, South Africa, Sri Lanka and many of the Pacific Islands. Building on a background in programme coordination and management, Emma has technical expertise in recovery, livelihoods and food security, community development and participation, cash based assistance and market based interventions. Since 2004, Emma has worked to scale up the uptake of cash through programmes, developing and leading market assessments, supporting CaLP as the first CaLP Coordinator and completing a Masters in Community Development. Today, Emma is a member of the CaLP Technical Advisory Group, the Movements Cash Peer Working Group and is an experienced cash and markets trainer.
