New Guidance: Market-Based Programming in WASH: Technical guidance for humanitarian practitioners
Over recent years, humanitarian aid organizations have increasingly used market-based programming (MBP) to deliver water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) in emergencies. ‘Market-based modalities’ include the distribution of cash and vouchers, which enable recipient households to access the WASH goods and services they need, as well as supporting WASH markets to deliver them at humanitarian standards.
This webinar presented the updated practical guidance on MBP in humanitarian WASH responses. This document introduces concrete steps that can be followed and implemented in line with the key phases of the humanitarian program management cycle: Assessment, Response analysis, Program design and implementation, Monitoring, and Preparedness. The guide includes links to practical tools, templates and guides that practitioners can adapt to use in their own work.
The recordings of the webinar are available in English, Spanish, French, Arabic and Portuguese.
