Minimum Expenditure Basket & Cash and Voucher Assistance: experiences and reflections for Latin America and the Caribbean
MEBs are tools used by CVA actors to support the calculation of the transfer amount, frequently for multipurpose cash transfers, to contribute to better vulnerability analysis and monitoring, and improve collaboration.
In view of the importance of this tool to contribute to quality CVA, the Regional Cash Working Group for R4V) and the CALP Network organized this event with the objective of creating a space for the exchange of knowledge and experiences on the calculation of basic baskets, gap analysis and decision on the value of the transfer for CVA programs in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC).
Agenda items for the webinar included:
- In the framework of an open conversation, share recent experiences on the formation of basic baskets in different humanitarian responses in the LAC region.
- To look “beyond” the MEB to cover issues of inclusion and mainstreaming of other sectors (health, shelter, education, etc.).
- Disseminate materials to contribute to MEB training at the response level.
This event is aimed at participants in CWGs at country and/or regional level; actors working on and/or supporting projects with CVA in the region; and other actors who are interested in the field of humanitarian CVA.
