Linking Humanitarian CVA with Social Protection

To promote informed and on-going dialogue between humanitarian and Social Protection stakeholders on the ways forward for linking Social Protection and Humanitarian CVA in given regional/country contexts.

Objectives

Part 1 – Introduction:

Objectives:
By the end of this part of the course, participants will be able to:
▪ Define SP and the components that are relevant from a humanitarian perspective.
▪ Explain the importance of linking SP and H-CVA.
▪ Outline the main frameworks and approaches to making SP more responsive to shock.
▪ Summarise the operational options for linking SP with H-CVA.
▪ Identify the potential roles and entry points for different actors in making SP systems responsive to shocks.
▪ Provide examples of scaling up SP for humanitarian response in different contexts.
▪ List the potential challenges and key lessons learned for linking SP with H-CVA.

Part 2 – Design

Objectives:
By the end of this part of the course, participants will be able to:
▪ Explain the key steps and considerations involved in designing H-CVA that contribute to strengthening/developing
SP systems in a country.
▪ Contextualize and apply tools for identifying practical options for linking H-CVA and SP in any given country.
▪ Clarify the roles of different stakeholders in linking SP with H-CVA in particular.
▪ Identify the key factors to consider in preparedness for linking SP with H-CVA.
▪ Suggest ways to ensure coordination on linking SP and H-CVA at country level
