Cash Enthusiast’s Guide to Humanitarian Networks and Partnerships Week

The fifth Humanitarian Networks and Partnerships Week (HNPW) will be held at the International Conference Centre (CICG) in Geneva, Switzerland from 4-8 February 2019.

Monday, 4th February

14:00 – 14:40 Collaborative research models in cash-based responses, REACH

At this HNPW briefing session, REACH will present the scope, lessons learned and impact of its most recent work in cash-based responses, with a focus on Joint Market Monitoring Initiatives and collaborative market assessments conducted in a series of humanitarian crises, including Yemen, Syria, Iraq, Libya and Nigeria.

14:50 – 15:30 Multi-sector needs assessment, REACH

This briefing session explores the scope, lessons learned and impact of the Multi-Sector Needs Assessments conducted in 2018 and charts out the next steps for 2019.

Tuesday, 5th February

11:00 – 12:30 Geneva-based Cash Working Group, co-chaired by the CALP Network and OCHA

The Geneva-based Cash Working Group includes UN Agencies, Red Cross/Red Crescent movement, donors, INGOs and NGOs, Private Sector and Government. This meeting is co-chaired by Sophie Tholstrup, the CALP Network Policy Coordinator and Juliet Lang, OCHA Cash Advisor.

Wednesday, 6th February

11:00 – 12:30 Doing no digital harm: toward data responsibility in humanitarian action, OCHA and ECHO

This event will bring together senior leaders from the humanitarian community, private sector, and government to explore questions related to the risks and best practices, and discuss concrete technical, procedural, and policy interventions to promote data responsibility in the sector.

16:00 – 17:30 What does cash do? Measuring outcomes and impact of cash assistance, the CALP Network, OCHA and REACH

How do we know what cash assistance achieves, and how much should we try to know? What’s different about understanding the outcomes of cash and the outcomes of in-kind assistance? What can we learn from the 2017 drought response in Somalia? Featuring panellists from the CALP Network, OCHA, REACH, Habitat for Humanity International and others. Come and join the debate!
