تعمل التكنولوجيا الرقمية على تغيير الطريقة التي نستجيب بها لحالات الطوارئ. تتراوح الابتكارات من كيفية تحديد الأشخاص المؤهلين للمساعدة، إلى جمع البيانات للتقييم والمراقبة، إلى التواصل مع المجتمعات المتأثرة بالأزمة. يمكن لأنظمة الدفع الرقمية، بما في ذلك الأجهزة المحمولة والقسائم الإلكترونية والبطاقات – عند استخدامها بالشكل المناسب – أن تقدم مساعدة أكثر شمولية وأكثر أمانًا وفعالية من حيث التكلفة والشمولية. ولكن مع تزايد حجم البيانات التي نجمعها ونخزنها ونشاركها عن الأشخاص، يجب علينا التأكد من مواكبة أنظمة حماية البيانات لدينا وفهمنا والتخفيف من المخاطر الكامنة في التقنيات الجديدة.
