Senior Technical Advisor for Cash and Emergencies

Elizabeth Tromans is the Senior Technical Advisor for Cash and Emergency at the International Rescue Committee. She has spent a decade working in the humanitarian field working in both acute and protracted emergencies. Elizabeth previously worked with Catholic Relief Services where she was based in India, Afghanistan, the Philippines, Lao PDR, Thailand, and Nigeria. She held an Asia regional role from 2013-17 where she led CRS’ response efforts in major disasters such as Typhoon Haiyan and the Nepal Earthquake. In her current role, she represents the IRC in the Collaborative Cash Delivery Network Executive Committee. Elizabeth was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Bangladesh (2004-2006) and earned her master’s degree in Human Rights and Humanitarian Assistance from the Joseph Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver. She speaks English, Spanish and Bengali.
